the capacity to gain an accurate and deep intuitive understanding of a person or thing.

Bingo! Facebook has added an Insight feature that does this and more!. Facebook's Insight  feature allows businesses the ability to set a variety of  marketing metrics and analyze all of them. Thus gaining the knowledge and understanding to satisfy existing customers and attract more!  Two major metrics that are imperative in social media marketing are "Reach" and "Engagement".

Reach refers to the amount of individuals who have seen your post appear in their timeline Vs. Engagement, which refers to the amount of people that actually like, share or comment on your post.

Analyzing the "Reach" is a great indicator of how well your business is getting your product/service or brand out in front of consumers and into people's news feed. However "Engagement" actually allows you to take note of who's interacting with your company, as well as connect with existing and potential customers.

Engagement is a key goal in social media marketing. These metrics consist of interactions beyond views. Engagement actually  reflects substantial insight reports that lead to potential sales and future relationships. Likes, shares and clicks just to name a few,are ways for businesses to understand their customer base and  utilize the free advertising  that  "shares" on Facebook provide.

While measuring "Engagement" is most important, one must understand that "Reach" does play a factor. Increasing your "Reach" can lower your "Engagement" if enough people aren't responding. It's imperative that businesses set clearly outlined goals.

Once engaged with consumers businesses should encourage feedback, include images that connect with consumers,& reward, and track participation. Incorporating these things will definitely maximize your social media marketing efforts. At the end of the day "Engagement" indicates a consumers intent to purchase or shows brand loyalty. Both are great for business.
